Volunteer Opportunities in the Twin Cities abound!

·
Teach someone to read.

·
Mentor a child.

·
Serve a meal.

·
Foster an animal.

·
Befriend a refugee.

·
Donate Blood.

Find out about these and other meaningful ways to make a
difference through the power of volunteering when you join HandsOn Twin
Cities on Saturday, February 15th from 10a.m.-3p.m. at the Mall
of America for the ninth annual HandsOn Twin Cities Volunteer Expo.
Find
the perfect volunteer project for you, your family, or your group. Choose from
one-time projects or longer-term commitments. You’ll find it all at the Volunteer
Expo!

Visit with representatives from 80 area nonprofit organizations
and find out how you can get involved in a good cause and benefit your
community.

What else is going on at the event? Participate
in “speed volunteering” activities and attend the Be the Change Awards
Ceremony.

Past speed Volunteering”
activities have included decorating baby bibs for Crisis Nursery; recycling
magazines into craft beads for Free Arts Minnesota; making fleece dog toys for
Helping Paws; and creating flashcards for afterschool programs for Project for
Pride in Living.

Be the
Change
 awards will
be given to volunteers who have shown exemplary service and commitment in the
areas of: Youth and Education, Economy/Basic Needs, Health, and the
Environment. Be the Change award
winners will be announced at 1:00 pm at the Rotunda stage.

This is the premier volunteer event in
the Twin Cities that showcases community involvement opportunities and
initiates valuable connections with local nonprofits.

Why should I attend? If you are seeking
volunteer opportunities as an individual, family, youth group or corporate
group, you will be able to meet with dozens of staff people and volunteers who
can assist you in finding the right volunteer engagement opportunity.
