award presentations and live auction. Then dance the night away.

People
with Autism Spectrum Disorders tend to see the world in black and white. While
this makes them ideal candidates for jobs like Quality Assurance and Technical
Writing, this makes social interaction difficult for them, as life is not black
and white.

These, often brilliant, individuals – think
Einstein, Mozart, Curie – tend to be unemployed or underemployed primarily due
to their poor social skills. One in 88 children are diagnosed with ASD. If only
17% of people with high – functioning ASD hold down jobs – the current
statistic – that is a lot of lost potential, and a huge drain on society. It
costs $29,000 to $43,000 per year to care for someone with ASD.

But the
lives of kids with autism are not black and white. Learning social skills helps
individuals with ASD create friendships, do well in school, hold down jobs,

contribute to society and fulfill their life’s potential.
