Outgoing School Board Member Sandy Belkengren Thanks Community for 12 Years of Support
Belkengren, along with the other two incumbents, were not re-elected Tuesday night.
After 12 years on the Richfield School Board, Sandy Belkengren was not elected to another term Tuesday night.
Following the results, Belkengren gave the following statement to Richfield Patch in an email:
"Coming in fourth out of seven, indicated a strong finish to a twelve year tenure on the Richfield School Board. Unfortunately, there were only three positions to fill.
"I would like to take this time to thank the community for their support and confidence in my decisions throughout my years on the Board. I hope to see the new Board membership continue to make progress on their goals, as we have throughout the previous years.
"There are wonderful things happening in Richfield Public Schools every day. I am pleased to say that it continues to be all about the kids, and their success in their future goals and dreams."
The other two incumbents, David Lamberger and John Easterwood, were also not re-elected. Christine Maleck, Peter Toensing and Tim Polls will officially join the board in January 2014.
