National Weather Service: Expect Hail With Coming Storms

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Thursday morning.

In addition to a hazardous weather outlook, the National Weather Service (NWS) has also issued a special weather statement detailing hail and strong storms in the Twin Cities metro area Thursday.

The rain is falling and the wind is blowing in Richfield already, and NWS said hail 1/2 an inch in diameter is possible with winds up to 50 mph. At 9:30 a.m. storms were moving east at 35 mph. All metro area counties could be affected.

The NWS suggests that if thunder is heard, to seek shelter and stay away from windows. More warnings could be issued as the storms progress.
