Freeze Warning Issued for Hennepin County

The National Weather Service is warning that freezing temperatures are highly likely overnight between Monday and Tuesday, putting some plants at risk.

The National Weather Service is warning that temperatures will likely fall below freezing overnight between Monday and Tuesday in the Twin Cities metro area.

Freezing temperatures are highly likely between 1 and 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, with the warning being in effect until 10 a.m., according to the weather service warning.

The conditions could kill sensitive plants, with tender, young vegetation at the highest risk, the warning says. Some master gardeners suggest covering plants with bedsheets to prevent damage.
