Dayton Declares November Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in the U.S.

declared November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month in Minnesota. The disease is often overlooked and to help change this, Dayton is joining with health care advocates to bring greater attention to the disease, according to a Dayton press release.

While significant steps to reduce smoking throughout the nation, lung cancer remains the leading cancer killer in the United States and now impacts one in 14 Americans.

The goal of the awareness month is to raise awareness about the realities of lung cancer, inform people about key symptoms and encourage people to see a doctor if such symptoms exist.
