Corrections and Clarifications

A summary of corrections and clarifications in Richfield Patch.

Richfield Patch is committed to accuracy, to acknowledging our mistakes, and to fixing them as quickly as possible to maintain the trust of the reader. It's all about transparency. All corrections are marked with an asterisk (*) in stories where errors have been fixed, accompanied by an editor's note in italics at the bottom of the story.

We do our best to get the facts right, but we're still human. If you see a factual error, contact Local Editor Caitlin Burgess at caitlin.burgess@patch.com and we'll verify and correct the error post-haste.

Here are the recent mistakes:

Correction and Clarification: In the June 19, 2012 article regarding the school board's decision to install field lights, we made a clarification as to when layoff notices have been sent out. In addition, we made a correction as to Deb Etienne's comments regarding the project funding coming from the capital fund versus the operating fund.

Correction: In the June 6, 2012 article about legislative candidates, Senate District 61 was originally named as a Richfield territory. This was a mistake and it has been correct to Senate District 63.

Correction: In the May 30 article about the Pillsbury Commons public hearing, Patrick Meniboon's last name was originally misspelled. The correction has been made.

Correction and Clarification: In the May 5, 2012 article about the revised Pillsbury Commons plans two things were changed. The purchase of the city's mortuary site is in fact on the new application. The drawing plan, however, did not illustrate this. After speaking with Mr. Clark, we've made the clarification. We have also clarified Wroge's position on townhomes for the area.

Clarification: In the April 24, 2012 article on the SEC public art project, two adjustments were made: one to Bendtsen's teaching titie, the other to the name of the school.

Clarification: In the March 1, 2012 article regarding the Lyndale Garden Center project was amended to include more information surrounding prospective tenants interested in the site.

Correction: In the Oct. 19, 2011 Football Friday article, it was originally written that Richfield wouldn't make it to playoffs this year, however every team will play at least one game. The error has been fixed.

Clarification: In the Sept. 30, 2011 Richfield Police Blotter we have clarified where the alleged assault of the Richfield High School student happened.

Correction: In the Sept. 27, 2011 article about the new health intiative through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, Dr. Marc Manley was listed as the "do Groove Guy," however this was incorrect. The article has been corrected to reflect new information received.

Correction: In the Sept. 26, 2011 article about Richfield Methodists and the gay marriage debate, Rev. Elizabeth Macaulay's name was spelled incorrectly. The errors have been fixed.

Correction: In the Aug. 18 article about school board candidates, Brian Ashmead was originally written as a candidate, however the correct name is John Ashmead. The error has been fixed in the article.

Correction: In the Nonprofit article regarding the state shutdown from July 1, 2011 an error in the original publication of the article stated The Arc of Minnesota and Richfield's Value Village as being under the same umbrella. While the two organizations are related, a clarification as to how close the relationship is has been amended in the article.

Correction: In the Five Things article from June 20, 2011 the Richfield Human Rights Commission book club meeting was written as Thursday, however the meeting is Monday, June 20, 2011. The change has been made to the article.

Correction: In the Richfield Concerts in the Park article from June 10 Patch neglected to include Richfield Bloomington Credit Union as a sponsor. The change has been made in the article.

Correction: In the Holy Angels softball article from May 17 there was one error. The final score was 5-1, not 6-1. The change has been made.

Correction: In the "Tackling Teen Pregnacy" article from April 25 there was one change made. The Storefront Group is the organization that runs the Love U 2 program, not ChildBuilders. The change has been made.

Correction: In the recap of the Richfield Human Rights Commission on May 4, two changes were made. The June book club reading is "From Every End of This Earth," not "Every End of the Earth." Also, while the new Richfield City Hall is expected to open in mid-May 2011, where commission meetings are typically held, the next commission meeting will be held at the community center.

Correction: In the profile of Nathan Bauer from April 25, two corrections were made to add clarity. We were informed that Bauer is an assistant instructor at the Woodbury YMCA and that the Community Involvement Program (CIP) is not Richfield specific. The changes have been made in the article.

Correction: In the Get Out article from April 14 ticket prices were written as $8 for general admission and $5 for students. We were informed that there was only student rates for opening night and the remainder of the show's run would be general admission only. We've made the correction in the article.
