JD Haas & Associates may be small company, but has big commitment to community service
[Bloomington, Minn. Oct. 2, 2013] -- When asked to rank ethical professions nurses and teachers usually have the advantage. Lawyers are often found at the bottom of the list with car salesmen and politicians.
The truth is most lawyers are highly ethical by nature of the profession with strong commitments to sound practices. That’s according to one lawyer, J D Haas, who has been practicing for 28 years, is licensed in seven states, and is now a finalist for the Better Business Bureau’s highest ethical honor.

Haas is the founder and owner of J D Haas & Associates based in Bloomington, Minn. and his company is one of three small business finalists for the Torch Award for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau. Formerly called the Integrity Award, the Torch Award for Ethics recognizes worthy companies that consistently strive to go above and beyond in their dealings with customers, employees, vendors and their community.
The 2013 ceremony will be held Tuesday, October 29, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.

“We are thrilled to be a finalist, but we most excited about the fact that the Better Business Bureau and the other finalists share our belief in practicing high ethical business standards,” said J D Haas, owner of J D Haas & Associates.
Haas says he believes it’s good for a business to follow a code of ethics; but it’s better if the business uses those ethics to improve the community. Haas and all seven his employees go above and beyond the number of free legal service hours required by the state, and all are active volunteers in their communities.
In addition to the Better Business Bureau recognition, the company has also achieved the highest rating by other attorneys and judges that make up the objective Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review rating for nine years.
