Often when a restaurant changes owners menus will change, decor will be redone and the flavors themselves may change. Rich Thompson, owner of in Richfield, bought the restaurant from its original owners in 1996, and has been working ever since to carry on the legacy of this neighborhood fixture.
"The pizza is the same pizza you'd get here in 1960," Thompson said.
Watching the Fireside Special be prepared does inspire a feeling of tradition, and the cooks take obvious pride in making much more than a pizza. They are making history, too.
