Top Christmas Gifts for Kids You Can Find Locally

The holidays can be a stressful time. Let Patch help you brainstorm ideas for gifts! Whether you're playing Santa or looking for gifts for your favorite nieces and nephews, find a fun gift they will love.

It is difficult to keep up on toy trends, and there always seems to be new toys that every kid just has to have. There's nothing quite like that squeal of joy on Christmas morning when a child gets exactly what they want. Make sure the "from" tag has your name on it.

is one of the best places in Richfield to find a great gift for kids. Not only do they have lots of both classic and new toys, but their employees are there to help you find the perfect gift for your little elf. Assistant Manager Wendy Hammond is up-to-date on the new toy trends.

"This year, Nanoblocks are hot, [which are like] small Legos," she said. "They are one of the best toys for all kids."

If the child in question isn't so much of a builder, Hammond also recommends a remote control robot. If your budget has some room to stretch, this toy will be a big hit. Priced at about $70, the robot will be that toy they just have to open and start playing with right away.

For a gift that can involve the whole family, Hammond recommends a new game called Trigger.

"Trigger is a ridiculously fun party game," she said. "You have to answer statements as quickly as possible by slapping the target and remember that right hand means 'true' and left hand means 'false.'"

If you've got a crafty girly girl on your list, Hammond's favorite gift is the ORB Factory Happily Ever After Jewelry Box.

"[The jewelry box] is my favorite gift," she said. "It's for ages 5 and up, it's 750 pieces, and it’s adorable."

If there's a child on your list that you don't know very well and don't want to guess with a specific toy, Richfield's locations sell adorable kids' mugs. Most kids love hot chocolate, and the little owl mugs will make them feel special and cozy. Plus, kids love having their own special things and they can use it year round.
