Taco Bell Now Open in Richfield

The new restaurant took the place of the vacant Burger King behind Menards.

Richfield is now home once again to a Taco Bell restaurant.

Taco Bell has officially opened its doors at 140 E. 78th St. The new restaurant is located just behind the new Menards superstore, and took the place of a former Burger King restaurant. On Monday afternoon, a "Now Open" sign hung from the restaurant's signage.

The fast food chain previously operated a location on 66th Street near Penn Avenue, but closed the restaurant a couple years ago. The former location is now occupied by Aida, a restaurant featuring mediterranean cuisine.

The city council approved Taco Bell's proposal in May 2013, despite Menards' concerns about the aesthetics of the building and site.
