At Flowerama, men always ask about the meanings of roses—especially when Valentine’s Day comes around. Most guys just choose red because it is a “safe” color.

However, if you want to say more—or less—than “I love you,” there is a wide variety of colored roses with different meanings:

  • Red: "I love you."
  • Deep Pink: “Thank you.” If someone you know does something nice for you or you want to show your partner you are thankful for them, a deep pink rose is a great way to show your appreciation.
  • Simply Pink: Happiness. It's great to give a pink rose to a partner to say, "I'm very happy with our relationship."
  • Light Pink:  Sympathy. When someone has had a loss, light pink roses is a very nice way of expressing your condolences. Be careful of this one on V-Day. Don't want to give the wrong impression.
  • White Rose: Innocence and Purity.
  • Yellow Rose: Friendship and Caring. It's the perfect gift to give to a friend or a loved one when you simply want to show them you care.
  • Lavender Rose: “I’m falling in love with you.”
  • Orange Rose: Desire.
  • Mixture of White and Red Roses: Unity. When you deliver white and red roses together to someone, it is means, “May we always be together as one."

Now that we have given you the tools, say what you mean and mean what you say this Valentine’s Day when you present your partner with a fresh bouquets.
