Richfield's Penn Central to Hold 'Avenue of Opportunities' Event

The event is Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The neighborhood and business organization is holding its first annual for prospective avenue tenants Saturday, May 19.

The Avenue of Opportunities Open House is an event to be held in the Penn Central of Richfield (Penn Avenue and 66th Street) area on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will be an opportunity for prospective business owners to talk with business experts and to tour available storefront and office spaces currently for lease in the Penn Central of Richfield business district. The event is a no-obligation opportunity to consider the possibilities of opening a business in the area and to get a firsthand look at the storefront and office spaces currently available.

The event has two parts:

1) Information Center

, 6613 Penn Ave. S., Richfield, will be the central gathering place where prospective business owners should first come to pick up information.  First National Bank of the Lakes will offer information on business loans and other business experts will be on hand to offer advice about starting and running a business.  There will also be information on the available spaces for lease. 

2) Tour available spaces for lease

Event attendees may then visit properties for lease.  Participating properties will be open and available for touring.  Owners and/or leasing agents will be on hand to talk with prospective tenants.

Who Ahould Attend?

The event will be marketed to three audiences:

  1. Small business owners who already run a business elsewhere in the Twin Cities but may be looking for an additional location
  2. Home-based business operators who may be looking to move their business to a storefront or office space
  3. Entrepreneurs who are thinking of starting a business

The Avenue of Opportunities Open House is a no-obligation event to gather information. All prospective business operators should feel comfortable about attending.

The event will be promoted through:

  • Penn Central of Richfield website;
  • Business networks and social media outlets;
  • Press releases to business journals and general media;
  • Flyers to small business people

Is There a Cost to Attend and/or Participate?

There is no cost for either the property owners who are showing their spaces or for prospective business operators coming to seek information

Who Is Sponsoring This Event?

The lead sponsor is Penn Central of Richfield, a local group of businesses and residents who help guide the future of the Penn Central area in Richfield.  Other participants include First National Bank of the Lakes, Metro IBA (Independent Business Alliance) and Richfield Visions.

Penn Central of Richfield's mission is to work for the vitality of the neighborhood through active participation. The group believes a prosperous business district is a key element to a healthy neighborhood. This event is one action to help further that goal.
