The Richfield Chamber of Commerce has a new president.
Angie Schaefbauer, who has been serving as interim president since Steve Lindgren retired Aug. 1, was announced as the top pick Wednesday night by the chamber board and offices.
According to a chamber press release, Schaefbauer is a small business owner and resident of Eagan. She is a graduate of Minnesota State University at Mankato with a Bachelor of Science degree, double-major in business and education. She also currently serves on the board of directors for Fuel Your Fight Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping support individuals living in Minnesota who are fighting to defeat cancer.
"I am excited to utilize my experience and expertise in working with the Chamber's members and Board to ensure productivity and the best utilization of the Chamber's resources. I am confident that the development Richfield is currently experiencing will be mirrored in the Chamber," Schaefbauer said in the release. "This is a tremendously energizing time for the Chamber and I am thrilled to be part of such a well-established entity. This new era for the Chamber will require a new way of thinking and a new model for doing business; I look forward to assuming the responsibilities of President and eagerly anticipate future initiatives."
Schaefbauer's first official day as president was Oct. 1.
