Hardee's Coming to Richfield? It's a Possibility

The international chain announced plans to open as many as 59 new restaurants around the Twin Cities in the next five years, with Richfield being a possible location.

Are you ready for a Hardee's to come to town?

The restaurant chain recently announced plans to sprinkle 59 new locations throughout the Twin Cities in the next five years. City Pages secured a map of the planned sites, with one targeted for east of I-35W and south of Highway 62 in Richfield. , Bloomington, Minneapolis and St. Louis Park are also pegged as potential spots.

Jim Sullivan, head of franchise development with CKE Restaurants, told City Pages the tentative locations all have high traffic counts, populations in the 40,000 range, good site visibility and drive-thru access.

While the new restaurant locations aren't guaranteed, CKE's market planning manager, Michael Sawyer, said the preliminary sites serve as "reference points." There are currently 21 Hardee's locations in Minnesota.

It's no secret that Richfield has a plethora of fast food options—three and two locations, a , and , to name a few.

near the Cedar Point Commons development, which received a luke-warm reaction from Richfield City Council members.

However, with Richfield's borders being defined by major highways and interstates, one could argue quick and easy dining options are logical and lucrative.

That said, Richfield Patch asks: Would Hardee's be a welcome addition to the city?
