FOLLOW UP: 66th Street and Lake Shore Drive Super America Canopy Removed

After a portion of the station's canopy fell in December 2010, reconstruction has finally begun.

After months of being an eyesore, the broken canopy at the Super America station on 66th Street and Lake Shore Drive has been taken down and is now in the process of being reconstructed. .

The entire canopy structure, and the gas pumps it covered, was removed and crews are working hard on the ground.

Richfield Patch is working on getting more information about when the project is expected to be done. The store itself is still open, however gas in unavailable at this time.
