VIDEO: Richfield Historical Society Celebrates 'History in Plain Sight'

The brand new Richfield: House & Home Exhibit opened Saturday.

"I began thinking of it as a city full of very large historical artifacts," said Jodi Larson, director of Richfield Historical Society, when referring to Richfield streets and houses.

This thinking led to the development of the latest exhibit at the , "Richfield: House & Home."

The new exhibit, which officially opened Saturday, explores how the homes of Richfield have developed from stock box houses into a diversity of shapes, sizes and uses through interactive activities. Larson told Patch that our homes are our history and this exhibit captures that.

While "Richfield: House & Home" will run through July 2012, Larson mentioned that the society is looking for artifacts from Christmas 1957 for a future exhibit. In this exhibit, they plan to recreate a holiday scene from over 50 years ago. Stay tuned.
