PHOTOS: Concerts in the Park Hosts Local Talent

Richfield's own Northern Winds Concert Band played Augsburg Park Thursday night as the Concerts in the Park series of performances continues this summer.

Northern Winds Concert Band played in the amphitheater at Thursday evening playing a variety of songs including Irving Berlin's "Alexander's Ragtime Band," Cole Porter's "Anything Goes," and "Washington Post March" by John Philip Sousa.

The band also recognized graduate, Angela Preston, with a scholarship and certificate for her recent accomplishment. Preston has been playing saxaphone with the Northern Winds Concert Band since seventh-grade, according to Band Conductor Joe Speakman. Preston's father, Joel Preston, also plays trombone in the band.
