Great Escape: Minneapolis Institute of Arts

Take a trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts to enjoy the museum and participate in various activities.

Not only does this historic museum opens it doors Tuesday through Saturday for free admission, but it provides activities for the family at no extra cost.

From April 8-10 the Minneapolis Institute of Arts is featuring an event entitled, “The Minneapolis Print and Drawing Fair” for all ages. Visitors can view famous prints from renowned artists, some of which can be purchased.

In addition, Sunday is Target Family Day and features “The Sea.” Visitors can learn about the history of sea travel and view battle ships from centuries ago. After the showing, you can paint your own seascape to share with your friends and family.

The institute is located one mile south of downtown Minneapolis at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and East 24th Street there is a free parking ramp adjacent from the museum. There are no reservations needed.
