Grab & Go Kids Planner: Puppets, Instrument Making & More

Now that Richfield and much of the state got a fresh helping of snow last weekend, your family may be feeling some cabin fever. 1) Luminary-Lit Skiing & Snowshoe Rental

Price: Rentals - $8/person for those 16-55 years of age, $4/person for those under 16 and over 55.

2) Puppet Show: Subnivean Surprise

Where / When: Westwood Hills Nature Center in St. Louis Park, MN on Saturday, Feb. 26 from 3-4 p.m.

Why Go: Your children can discover what all the animals have been doing during the snowy winter months through an entertaining puppet performance.

Price: $3.25 for residents; $4.25  for non-residents.

3) Teens Alone Battle of the Bands

Where / When: Depot Coffee House in Hopkins, MN on Friday, Feb. 25 from 6-11 p.m.

Why Go: Although the event is open to everyone, this is a good low key venue to send your teens to enjoy an evening of live music.

4) Richfield and Holy Angels Girls Basketball Games

Where / When: Richfield High School vs. Henry Sibley on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.; and Academy of Holy Angels vs. Chaska on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Let your young athletes at home experience the excitement of high school sports.

Price: About $6. Student, children and adult prices vary.

5) Musical Instrument Making and Playing

Where / When: Lake Harriet Spiritual Community  on Sunday, Feb. 27 from 1-2 p.m.

Why Go: You get to jam out with your very own homemade wind instrument.

Price: $10/person
