During his 14 years with the Grammy and Dove Award-winning Gaither Vocal Band (GVB), Guy Penrod performed before more than 5 million people on Bill and Gloria Gaither's Homecoming Tours, including those in South Africa, Australia and Europe, and was featured on Gaither television specials airing on multiple networks.
Now, Guy has gone solo and brings his own style of country gospel music to Benson Great Hall. Although he loves Southern gospel and the multi-layered vocal stylings of the GVB, Guy's country roots run deep, too. In addition to his experience with Music City Tonight, he's also recorded with artists such as Kenny Chesney and Shania Twain.
"The closest definition I've found for my music is 'life music,'" Guy says. "There's a large base of folks that love country music and go to church on Sunday. I believe they'll connect with what we're doing. I've been blessed with really loyal support through all these years with the Vocal Band; something I'm very grateful for. I'm hoping that all these people will come with me on this new chapter of my life and music."
