Adam Granger in concert at Richfield Historical Society

The Homestead Pickin' Parlor is into its third season as the sponsors of the Richfield Historical Society’s
summer concert season held in the back yard of the Bartholomew House located at 6901 Lyndale Ave S in Richfield.

Wednesday, July 18 is the date and the performer is Adam
Granger
Adam was one of the featured artists last year and he had so much fun and the audience had so much fun that we asked him back.  A native of Oklahoma, Adam has been a longstanding mainstay of the Minnesota acoustic
music community.  Many of you will remember Adam as the leader of Garrison Keillor’s house band, The
Powdermilk Band
back in the ‘70s.  He continues to write for the show and makes occasional appearances as
well.

Adam is an internationally recognized guitar instructor and we are proud to number him among our teaching staff at Homestead.  He has authored the book “Granger’s Fiddle Tunes for Guitar” which has become the ‘go-to’ book for students of the ‘flatpicking’ style of guitar playing.  A prodigious songwriter, Adam has a number of CDs which demonstrate his prowess as a tunesmith and an observer of life.  He regularly appears as a MC at many upper Midwest musical gatherings.  In whatever capacity he appears before an audience, he quickly establishes a rapport with those in attendance and his sense of humor along with his musical talent guarantees you a memorable
evening.

The concert is free and open to the public and will be held rain or shine.  Inclement weather (and you can include excessive heat in that term) will send us indoors to the air-conditioned Richfield History Center building.  Indoors or out, Jodi Larson, the Executive Director of the Richfield Historical Society and your hostess for the evening always has refreshments available and sees it as her number one goal that you have an enjoyable evening.  Bring along a lawn chair for your comfort if we are outdoors and join us on the Backporch of the Bart.
