Alison Scott Returns to 'The Dakota'

Local musician Alison Scott is performing Saturday night at the Dakota Jazz Club in downtown Minneapolis.

In addition to beginning a tour of Minnesota's less music priviledged communities, Richfield's resident soul artist Alison Scott will play at the Dakota Jazz Club at 8 p.m. Saturday night.

According to a press release, the Dakota Jazz Club has been a staple venue for Scott and her band for the past few years. Fifteen sold-out shows have been performed at the venue. The playlist for Saturday evening will include fan favorites from her first two albums, Wish On The Moon and Hiding Under the Covers.

Rock the Cause CEO Scott Herold wrote that her latest album, Hiding Under the Covers Vol. 2, is "a gritty tour de force collection of songs by Tom Waits, Radiohead, Cat Stevens, Elliot Smith, and more served up in Scott's deeply soulful and unique vocal style."
