Winter Storm Continues to Blast Richfield, State

More snow is predicted by the National Weather Service for Monday.

Richfield received nearly 12 inches of snow by about 9 p.m. Sunday and can expect two to four more inches Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday's nearly 30 mph winds have died down a bit and crews are currently working to clear the streets.

Traffic on Minnesota highways are generally free flowing, but Interstate 494 eastbound and westbound are congested in a couple areas throughout Richfield, according to the Minnesota Department Transportation (MnDOT) live metro traffic map.

While more than 200 plows were out working on state roads throughout the storm, many recent crashes have been tweeted by MnDOT as well.

Richfield Patch will continue to update on changing weather conditions.

Kudos to the snow plow teams, my commute to work this morning was awesome. Roads were clear(ish) and thanks to the holiday traffic was at a minimum.
