Crews will begin reconstructing the Penn Avenue Bridge spanning Highway 62 Monday, July 22.
As part of the reconstruction, westbound ramps from the highway to Penn will be closed beginning Monday. Eastbound ramps will remain open for now, but may need to close for short periods of time.
In addition, Highway 62 will need to be closed at times to accommodate the work and will be announced in advance. The first closure will be July 26 between Highway 100 and I-35W. Eastbound traffic to France Avenue will remain open for hospital traffic only.
As far as detours go, Penn Avenue traffic will be detoured to Xerxes Avenue, and 66th and 50th streets. Highway 62 traffic should follow Highway 100 or I-494 or I-35W.
