Tickets Still Available for Wood Lake Benefit Dinner

Wood Lake Nature Center's annual benefit dinner also celebrates the center's 40th anniversary.

On April 29 supporters will gather at the Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington to celebrate the center's while raising money to keep it going for the years to come.

The annual dinner is the largest fundraiser of the year for the center, according to Jeff Bender, Wood Lake volunteer.

In addition to a , naturalists Mike Link and Kate Crowley, who completed a 1,500 mile environmental hike around Lake Superior in 2010, are the featured guest speakers and there is also a silent auction featuring many green items, according to a Wood Lake press release. All benefit attendees will also receive a Buckthorn walking stick as sort of party favor.

Tickets are $40 for Friends of Wood Lake (FOWL) members and $45 for non-members. All the proceeds of the benefit all aspects of the running the nature center, particularly the educational programs and environmental resource management.
