Sorry, Cyclists: Part of Richfield Bike Lane Project Canceled

Costs for the west route were too high for the project to continue.

Years, Richfield started in motion the plans to create two new bike routes in the city. Only one bid came in for both the east and west routes, according to the Sun Current, and it far exceeded the project cost and grant.

According to the Sun Current, the east route would follow Bloomington Avenue south from Highway 62 and eventually connect with an existing bike route on 76th street. A west route with connection to Portland Avenue via 73rd Street is also planned.
