Scattered Power Outages Across Richfield

Xcel Energy indicates Richfield locations should be restored between 11 a.m. and noon.

Power is down in several Richfield neighborhoods, reports Xcel Energy. The company's website shows that approximately two hundred people on the city's west side, between York and Penn avenues, are currently without power, while another 15 or more have lost power on the far southeast side of Richfield.

Power failures were occurring throughout the night and into the morning as a result of last night's storm. Ice accruing on tree branches eventually downed power lines in areas across the metro.

Residents should stay away from a fallen power line and alert Xcel Energy at 1-800-895-1999.

Work crews were working to restore power throughout the night and into the morning. A company spokesperson told the Star Tribune earlier this morning that customers should expect power back on "in a matter of hours." The map detaling power outages in Richfield indicates that city residents currently without power should expect it to be restored between 11 a.m. and noon.
