Richfield Launches Campaign for Tobacco-Free Parks

A new ordinance restricts the use of tobacco in all Richfield parks.

In late September 2010 the passed amendments to the city's park ordinance that changed multiple park rules, including a change the restricts tobacco use.

While the new rules were effective Jan. 1, 2011, park signage replacement was scheduled from April because of winter conditions.

Now that the snow is melting away and spring is here, in addition to installing new park signage, the city began a promotional campaign April 1 to help the community become aware of the new ordinance.

As part of the campaign, will be giving a presentation about the new ordinance at the council's meeting April 12. The attached photo flyers, in English and Spanish, are being used to get the word out.
