Richfield House Hunt: Rehabs Offer Buyers a Move-In Ready Option

Richfield House Hunt is back for another week.

As the housing market improves, more homes coming on to the Richfield market are traditional sales, rather than short sales or bank owned.

Buyers can expect these homes to be move-in ready with amenities. Some of these traditional sales are formerly distressed properties bought and rehabbed by private investors.

Other rehabs are done by the Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation’s (GMHC) Housing Resource Center. The Center works in neighborhoods with high foreclosure rates to keep these neighborhoods from falling into disarray by putting buyers who will occupy the home for long periods. There are a limited number of these homes selling in Richfield, but the rehabilitation work is high quality and the prices are affordable. Their program also offers homeowners with various home interest loans and no cost housing information.
