PHOTOS: Richfield Junior Ambassadors Schwab & Ramanujam Crowned at 4th of July Celebration

Richfield's Lorelei Schwab and Tejas Ramanujam named 2011-12 Richfield Junior Ambassadors.

Richfield's newest junior ambassadors Lorelei Schwab and Tejas Ramanujam were crowned Monday night during a coronation ceremony at . Their were 18 candidates total; 16 girls and two boys in kindergarten through second grade.

The evening started off the older ambassador candidates giving their bios in preparation for Tuesday night's coronation. Next, The junior candidates performed "Something That I Want" from Disney's animated film "Tangled."

Emcees, and current Richfield Ambassadors, Baza Haile-Selassie, Mara LeBlanc and Virginia Sanchez continued with introductions of current junior ambassadors Erin Jones and Shaylee Bartelle, who gave wonderful farewell speeches that touched on what the program had done for them over the year.

Then came the big moment, who is to become the 2011-12 Richfield Junior Ambassadors. Schwab's name was the first to be announced and she quickly came up to claim her tiara and sash. Ramanujam was announced second and he strutted his way up front to accept his cap and sash.

Schwab also won the top button seller award with a total 97 buttons sold.
