Pet of the Week: Sunny the Sweetheart

Sunny was found as a stray in Iowa and needs a new home.

Editor's note: This is a new weekly series called "Pet of the Week" where we feature a companion up for adoption from Pet Haven of Minnesota.

Every two weeks, Richfield Petco partners with Pet Haven of Minnesota for adoption events for dogs and cats that need new homes.

This week's Richfield Patch Pet of the Week is Sunny:

Sunny is a 2-year-old Bull Terrier who was found as a stray in rural Iowa. She is a lively, sweetheart with a puppy mentality.

Sunny is very outgoing and loves to play, so she would love a home where walks were on the daily agenda- though she’s probably not a runner’s best friend (Sunny is not quite that active).

Sunny is working really hard on name recognition, walking nicely on her leash, general commands, and not saying hello to new people by leaping into their arms.

If you want to make Sunny’s day, just give her a toy. There aren’t many things better in this world to Sunny than bounding alongside a thrown ball or tearing through a new plush. And once you wear her out, Sunny is more than likely going to cuddle next to you as a sign of her appreciation.

Sunny gets along well with dogs and children but doesn’t care for cats, and Sunny has shown a tendency to warm quicker to females. The perfect home for Sunny would be one with an energetic family looking to add a dynamic member to the household- and a family willing to see her through her puppy habits with attention and training.
