Pet of the Week: Armondo

Armondo was found wandering the streets and needs a new home.

Editor's note: This is a new weekly series called "Pet of the Week" where we feature a companion up for adoption from Pet Haven of Minnesota.

Every two weeks, Richfield Petco partners with Pet Haven of Minnesota for adoption events for dogs and cats that need new homes.

This week's Richfield Patch Pet of the Week is Armondo:

Armondo is a Pitbull Terrier/American Staffordshire mix, who was found with his littermate wandering the streets of Brooklyn Park. After being recovered by local police, the owner of both dogs was contacted, although he refused to claim the animals.

Instead, Armondo is currently living with a supportive foster family and is doing tremendous. Armondo gets along well with other dogs, including his older, more laid-back foster sibling, and Armondo has done superb during testing with cats and children.

Armondo is the perfect companion for an owner who wants a dynamic young animal: Armondo is active enough to take on walks and play outside, but isn’t prone to being overexcited indoors and will look to steal a spot on the couch if you’re ready to unwind.

Although, Armondo’s favorite pastime is to hold court over a backyard. He will chase rebel squirrels and rabbits all day long. He really enjoys watching what happens outside.

Armondo knows how to sit, lay down, and stay; he is potty trained; and Armondo can be crated, though he will whine a tad before he falls asleep.

Because of his breed, Armondo comes with a stigma. But his demeanor and personality couldn’t be further from that stereotype. Armondo will be a great example of just how gentle and loving Bully breeds can be. Any family willing to help Armondo set that example in their community should strongly consider this affable and loveable companion.
