City Looking for 'Good Neighbor' Landscaping

The best will receive an award for the yard that best contributes to the community.

Every neighborhood has them—that house whose yard makes you smile. Or maybe its garden is elegant, a beautiful thing to look at as you walk to your car in the morning.

Now, the City of Richfield is looking to recognize those residents whose gardening has "a positive impact on the neighborhood" with a Good Neighbor Landscaping Award. Applications are due by Aug. 12, and the grand prize will be announced at the Sept. 10 City Council meeting.

All entrants will be judged on the landscape's:

  • Visual quality
  • Usefulness
  • Plant selection and quality of installation
  • Maintenance
  • Transferability to other residences
