Many Twin Cities families will be faced with high food prices this holiday season. Instead of having to scale back on their Thanksgiving meal, anyone is welcome to purchase a $30 holiday pack through Fare For All Express, a program of the Emergency Food Shelf Network. Much like a traveling grocery store, Fare For All Express is a program that sells fresh produce and frozen meat for up to 40 percent less than grocery store prices.
On Nov. 22, 2011 $30 holiday packs will be available for sale at from 1-3 p.m. at the . The package will contain a 10-12 pound turkey, pie, frozen vegetables, cranberries, bread, and other items to complete a holiday meal. At almost half of a typical grocery store price, it is the perfect way to get a great Thanksgiving dinner for less. There is no need to pre-order the package.
“We are so excited by the response to our program and are thrilled to bring high quality food at almost half the price”, explained Lori Kratchmer, executive director of the program. “Fare For All has been making a huge impact in the communities we serve.”

Fare For All Express makes monthly stops at 20 different locations across the broader Twin Cities metropolitan area, including Richfield. Fare For All Express partners with the Richfield Community Center to offer customers fresh, quality, and nutritious grocery packages. Because Fare For All is a bulk purchasing program, the more people who participate, the better.
Who Can Participate?
Open to anyone who needs to save money, there is no need to pre-register to receive these groceries. Accepted forms of payment include: cash, credit, debit, and EBT cards. All sites are open one day each month for an average of two hours. The grocery packs come in four varieties: Regular, Meat Only, Vegetarian, and Monthly Special.
