What Should Replace the Holidazzle Parade?

The annual tradition is going dark after this year to make room for a new, bigger event, according to reports.

When I was a kid, Dad piled my sister and I, and a few friends, into the backseat of our old boat of a car and headed downtown to see the magnificent lights and sights of Holidazzle parade

Each year we went it always seemed to be the coldest night yet of the winter season, but the spectacle of it all made it worth it.

Now, after 22 years as a Minneapolis staple and family event for many Minnesotans, organizers are pulling the plug after this year's run and replace it with something "bigger and broader" in 2014, according to KSTP.com. What that may be is still yet to be planned.

According to WCCO, the Minneapolis Downtown Council said it was time to “re-imagine the holiday experience downtown” and focus on features that could attract visitors in every season, prompting the decision.

So, Patch asks: Will you miss the Holidazzle parade? Or were you tired of it? What do you think should replace the annual event? Tell us in the comments section below.
