Submission Period for Richfield's Holiday Lights Contest Ends Friday

The contest is open to all Richfield residents.

Richfield Recreation's first annual Holiday Lights Decorating Contest is in full swing, however, the submission period ends at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13.

The contest, which is run by the city's recreation department and sponsored by Richfield Patch and The Home Depot, will will be awarding participants in five categories: Most Traditional, Best Animation, Most Unique, Best Homemade Holiday Display and “The Clark Griswold Award” (most lights).

All winners will receive a $50 Home Depot gift card, as well as yard signs to brag-up their big wins. The winnings will be delivered by the city to winners' homes.

Register online at richfieldrecreation.com or by calling 612-861-9385. Again, the contest submission period will run from through 5 p.m. Dec. 13. Judging will take place Dec. 16-17, and the winner will be announced on Patch Dec. 18.
