Richfield Couple Nabbed after Sliding Away with Trombones, More

Richfield Police arrested a man and woman after they reportedly stole musical instruments from Macalester College, the University of St. Thomas and Hamline University in St. Paul.

For Macalester College, it wasn’t quite the day the music died, but much of it was stolen.

The same song can be sung for Hamline, and again for St  Thomas.

A Richfield couple was arrested Friday for taking instruments from the music departments at the private colleges in St. Paul, to the tune of (sorry) thousands of dollars.

Charges, according to the Star Tribune, have officially been filed against the female suspect, Nicole M. Korolchuck, 29, who was charged in Ramsey County District Court in early November with two counts of theft of a controlled substance from an alleged theft at an open house.

The man who was arrested has not been named since he hasn't yet been charged.

A student's saxophone with an unspecified value also was stolen there Nov. 9. St. Thomas reported two trombones stolen Wednesday and a guitar stolen Nov. 4. A $6,000 saxophone owned by the university is still missing. At Hamline, a violin valued at $1,000 was taken Monday, and a school-owned trombone disappeared last month.
