Two RHS Band Students Chosen For State Honor Band

Richfield High School students chosen to be part of MBDA State Honor Band for 2010-11 school year.

Richfield High School (RHS) band students, Luke Gagnon and Neva Fuller, were selected to be part of the Minnesota Band Directors Association (MBDA) 9-10 Grade Honor Band.

Gagnon, who plays alto saxophone, and Fuller, on the french horn, were two of 80 students selected out of the 221 who auditioned this year, according to an e-mail from Ben Hoehn, RHS band director.

The students will now have the opportunity to work with some of the state's finest music educators, Hoehn said.

The State Honor Band will give a performance at Farmington High School on April 10 at 2 p.m. The band will be conducted by Dr. Jerry Luckhardt, associate professor of music at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
